A technical table in Florence for the changes at the DM 53
Wednesday, January 27, 2010

On the 26th January 2010, in the Sala degli Otto in Palazzo Vecchio, was established a technical table with the main aim to discuss about the changes of the Ministerial Decree 182 and 53 regarding the qualification exams and the work of restorer. The table was strongly supported by Florence deputy Major Dario Nardella, whose sensitivity about cultural heritage and conservation problems is very well known and it can be surely considered a good help for the safe and the evaluation of the work of restorer which in Florence involves more than 1000 citizens, the higher concentration of restorer of the entire world.
Attended at this table: FILLEA-CGIL, CNA, UIL, CISL, CONFARTIGIANATO, LA RAGIONE DEL RESTAURO and other cultural institutions, including our Institute. During the opening press conference, dr. Francesco Amodei shared the restorer’s worries about the new regulations and agreed with the need of changes at the Ministerial Decree 182 and 53, in order to allow restorers to present all their works done until the date of the 29th July 2009 and to simplify the procedures of certifications. He also proposed the cancellation of the DM 53 and the new drafting of many parts of the Decree with particular reference to the qualification exams.
The Decree in fact, while asking an improvement of the practical activities in the training school period of time, from the other end fixes a quite entirely theoretical preliminary test in order to select the restorers for the qualification exams. It could be better to consider for all the applicants the three different series of tests and then use the final total results.
All the members of the technical table, will meet again in the mid of February, in order to discuss with the Ministerial delegates all the matter. In the meantime it will be asked to postpone again the deadline for the presentation of the admission requests at the exams, currently fixed for the 30th of April, waiting for the decisions of the conference Stato-Regioni and of the verdict of the TAR Lazio expected for the 11th May 2010.
