B_ THE ENTRY CREDIT VALIDATION SYSTEM

The Institute is one of the few institutions which has an own proper internal office managed by the Institute Director, Ester Calabrò, who is officially accredited by the Regione Toscana asExpert in competences validation and Responsible of the Acknowledgement Process (entry credits, intermediate checks and final exams). The credits office has established a series of adequate entry competences validation rules, which can be summarized as follows:
1. Exam of the study titles and of the certifications of the applicant professional experiences. Applicants are requested to send the copy of the personal certifications referring to the selected course.
2. Comparative check of the topics followed during the secondary school studies and the current Institute programmes. This procedure is easier if applicant come from an Italian or foreign institution which has undersigned a cooperation agreement with the Institute.
In case of positive result after the entry credits checking procedure, applicants are allowed to use the assigned credits for obtaining a reduction of the compulsory topics and of the tuition fee which will be fixed by the Institute Direction on the basis of a correspondence table with the Institute study programmes.

Notes on the System of Credits (Regione Toscana: DD 3679 of the 6th November 2009)
All the courses are structured for U.F., Formative Units which are strictly connected to the certification of final competences.
The system of credits is an instrument which helps in the evaluation of the amount and the quality of students work. Each credit is represented by the measurement of the amount of the work which every student did in order to reach the programmed formative goals provided by any single course. A credit is equivalent to 25 hours of study, including frontal sessions, laboratory, practical works, internships, seminars and meetings, researches and individual work.
