Five Years Degree Programs

The University course postponed at the academic year 2011-2012
On the 14th May 2010 our Institute filed its request for the Ministerial Accreditation as Formative Institutions of the course of Restorer of Cultural Heritage (quinquiennal degree). After quite a year, the Ministry hasn’t yet created any commission. For this reason we think it will not possible to organize the five year course course for the coming autumn.
We inform so, all the interested people that they can file their request of admission at the three year recognized courses by the Regione Toscana (Collaborator Restorer), looking forward the ministerial accreditation for the five year degree courses (Restorer).

The Institute, starting from the academic year 2011-12, works as a formative institution in the organization of the five year courses for the issue of the Degree title of "Conservator of Cultural Heritage", as fixed by the Decreto DM87/09 (Italian version).

According to the art. 1 of the DM 86 of 26th May 2009 , the qualification of "Conservator of Cultural Heritage ", obtained due to the art. 182 of Italian Cultural Heritage Codex, is equivalent to the following sector profile.

" The Conservator of moveable cultural heritage and architectural decorated surfaces, is a professional technician who is able to define the state of deterioration of the artworks and to activate a series of direct and un direct actions finalised to the preservation and the conservation of the cultural artworks value. In this sense the conservator is able to study and analyze, following a coherent and co-ordinated plan, all the data concerning the materials, the execution techniques and the state of deterioration of the selected artworks. He is also able to project and co-ordinate the required interventions of restoration and the staff of assistant conservator involved in any single process of restoration. He made also activities of research, didactic and experimentation in the fields of conservation and restoration. All the activities included in the professional profile of the „Conservator of Cultural Heritage "are clearly described in the attached document A of the Ministerial Decree."
Admission of students with a three years Diploma issued by our Institute
Students with a three years Diploma issued by our Institute will have granted the validation of their entry credits with a subsequent cancellation of the obligation to follow the practical study sessions for the first three years. They will have also, for the first three years, a reduction of the two-thirds of the total amount of the tuition fee. For these students, which are not obliged to pay the Admission Exams Tax, it is compulsory to sustain a preliminary admission test .
