Presentation of short and summer courses
Florence is the city which, housing the greatest number of masterpieces and restorers in the world, offers the best opportunities to obtain and to improve skills and knowledge in the field of conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage.
Our Institute has been opening since 35 years in the months of July and September its laboratories to the students coming from all over the world to take part to the introductory and specialization hands-on approach courses delivered by the same instructors of the three years academic courses.
Admission
It is no required any study title to be admitted at the Summer courses. There is no age limit.
The courses are held in Italian. All the sessions has a practical approach and for this reason all foreign students who have a basic knowledge of Italian language can follow them. See some courses of Italian language organized by the Insitute.
The composition of classes
Each class is composed of a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10 students.
The small number of students per class facilitates a better relationship lecturer/student that allows allow us to treat all the course's topics in order to meet student's different needs (preparation for the academic courses, acquisition of the basic introductory techniques, acquisition of the traditional Florentine techniques, etc).
The tuition fees are proportional to both the level of specialization of the course and the number of students per class.
Summer Courses Organization
The total number of the activities hours, as showed in the study plan includes mainly practical laboratory sessions, supported by the basic theoretical training, as well as by any additional activities, offered from time to time by the city, for the enrichment of student’s training as: visits to museums, exhibitions and sector firms, conferences and seminars, research and documentation, etc.
Student Assistance
Enrolled students will receive the didactic assistance, all the materials and the instruments for general use, the main equipment and apparatus for safety during group workshops, a starter kit containing some tools and personal products to start the course attendance, a Palazzo Spinelli overall; the Inail accident insurance; the accident and casualty insurance with a primary private insurance company; the issue of the certificate of attendance.Students do not have to worry about buying any didactic material to attend the course sessions. It will be provided on the first day of the course.
