REDUCTION OF THE TUITION FEES

The Institute doesn’t receive any public fund for the management of its courses in Florence. We can finance our activities only by means of the tuition fees. For this reason the Institute cannot grant scholarships for the courses, but only some reductions of the tuition fees, except for the exam taxes.

Reduction for validation of entry credits
Applicants can ask for a validation of their study titles or sector professional experience in order to obtain a reduction of the tuition fee. The Direction, after the evaluation of the entry credits, made by the Credits Validation Office, which is delegated to titles and certifications evaluation process, will decide about the suitability of the amount of the reduction of the tuition fee. A credit is equivalent to 25 hours of study; it includes frontal sessions, laboratory, practical works, internships, seminars and meetings, researches and individual work.
The Institute applies the system of validation of entry credits in the following courses:
- first year of the biennial courses
- second year of the biennial courses (only for those who ask for the direct admission) - third year of specialization (only for those who ask for the direct admission) - first year of the quinquiennal degree courses
- annual masters.
Summer courses entry credits
Summer courses include didactic sessions which, also in case of intensive courses, are very different from academics didactic programmes. Anyway, the enrolment in summer courses 2010 can give a reduction of the tuition fee of the academic courses 2010-2011 . This reduction will be applied only for the enrolments in the academic courses whose study plan is strictly connected to the followed summer courses.
For more detailed information, see the course form and the related schedule.

Special Fidelity Reductions
The Institute can grant a 10% reduction of the tuition fees as followings:
- Students who gained a PS Diploma and who are enrolled at a new Academic or summer course.
- Students who after following a Summer course decide to enrol at another Summer course.
Fidelity Reductions are granted only after a written authorization by the Direction and can be cumulated to entry credits reductions.

Reduction for agreements with Italian and foreign institutions
The Institute can grant a reduction of all the courses, including the pluriannual ones, tuition fees at students coming from schools, universities and public or private Italian or foreign institutions which have a specific accord of collaboration with Palazzo Spinelli. The reductions can cover the 10% of the tuition fees, except for the exams tax.
Foreign Scholarship Holders
Foreign scholarship holders have to pay the tuition fee fixed by the Institute after the evaluation of the applicants entry credits. They haven’t any reduction of the tuition fees, except for particular cases ruled by specific agreements amongst the Institute and the applicant foreign Government and/or consulates which works in the student country of origin.

Impact of reductions on the applicants tuition fees
The total amount of reductions, validated by the Institute, will be distributed in the four rates provided by the Administrative Regulations of each course.
