Emanuele Amodei is in Tirana following an invitation of the Albanian Government. The agenda of his visit includes a series of meetings with the Minister of Culture Visar Zhiti and other personalities from the world of cultural heritage, including the director of IMK Apollon Bace (with which the Institute has carried out the project Arial for the creation of a laboratory restoration of polychrome artworks in Tirana). ...continues» |

It is called Camp Craft's the innovative study-holiday created by Let's Work Artisans! It is an educational project sponsored by the Centre for arts and crafts with the cooperation and contribution of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra, to help small children (8 to 12 years) to learn the English language through the techniques of artistic craftsmanship. Valery Ledyev, dean of the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, well known painter in Russia and in Europe, paid a visit to President Francesco Amodei at Palazzo Ridolfi. A meeting that has renewed the friendship that began in Russia twenty years ago, in May 1993, when the president of the Institute gave to the restorers of Pushkin the alabasters necessary to complete the mosaics of the Amber Room.

The return to the Verna of some artworks recently restored by our students

Tuesday, April 16 2013, our restoration office gave back to the Monastero della Verna four stone artefacts and four oil on canvas paintings. All the artworks were restored by our students under the supervision of their instructors Piero Frizzi and Natalia Materassi, and after the project was officialy approved by the Superintendence of Arezzo.
